FRIENDS OF NCR

A little about us.

Friends of NCR is dedicated to supporting candidates for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives who adhere to the principles of good government. The PAC is committed to building quality relationships with our government and elected officials, and endeavors to educate federal policy makers about the cannabis industry and its policy objectives.

The structure of Friends of NCR as a hybrid PAC allows for the support of candidates and lawmakers who are supportive of federal cannabis reform as well for education and engagement campaigns on emerging issues impacting the state-regulated cannabis industry, public health, and public safety.

Why now?

As we are all aware, 2024 is a very active political year with the presidential election and control of Congress up in the air, as well as several cannabis-related measures expected on state ballots in November. The domestic cannabis industry also finds itself on the precipice of monumental federal cannabis policy changes, with the ongoing scheduling review being conducted by the Administration expected to result in cannabis being removed from Schedule I – the most restrictive under the CSA. At the same time, the state-regulated cannabis industry is facing growing threats due to the proliferation of intoxicating synthetic cannabinoid products following the legalization of hemp in 2018 and an emboldened illicit market due to the lack of access to capital available to legitimate businesses due to congressional inaction.
